What we do
Our Health & Wellbeing program improves health literacy and connects community members with culturally safe services. We partner with Pacific health providers, GPs and mental-health services to bring information, screening and conversations directly to where our people gather.
Men's & women's circles
Monthly talanoa sessions covering mental health, chronic disease, relationships and parenting in culturally safe spaces.
Health screening days
Pop-up clinics with Pacific health partners offering BP, diabetes and heart-health checks.
Mental-health first aid
Free MHFA training for community leaders, coaches and youth workers - accredited certification provided.
Pacific health referrals
Warm referrals to Pacific-led GPs, counsellors and AOD services across Melbourne.

Health program FAQs
- Are health screenings free?
- Yes. All FCAV-hosted screening days are free and open to members and non-members alike, with Medicare card not required.
- Is MHFA training really free?
- Yes - FCAV covers the full cost (normally $325) for community leaders, coaches, youth workers and church volunteers.
- How private are the men's and women's circles?
- What's shared in circle stays in circle. We follow a clear confidentiality kawa (protocol) at the start of every session.
