Youth & Family

About the program

What we do

Our Youth & Family program supports Fijian-Australian children, teenagers and parents through mentoring, peer groups and intergenerational activities. We help young people stay connected to culture and identity, while giving families practical tools to navigate life in Victoria - school, work, relationships and wellbeing.

Youth mentoring

Trained Fijian-Australian mentors paired one-to-one with young people aged 12–24, with monthly group meet-ups across Melbourne.

Family wellbeing circles

Termly gatherings for parents and carers, with guest speakers on parenting, mental health, finances and navigating school.

Holiday programs

School-holiday cultural and sports activities - talanoa nights, cooking classes, beach days and the annual youth retreat.

Leadership pathways

Public-speaking, MC training and committee shadowing so the next generation can lead FCAV and their wider communities.
